Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration 2020
Pittman Elementary Leadership Academy
This year's celebration of the Hispanic Heritage Month brought together students, parents and staff from Pittman Elementary Leadership Academy. The Zoom meeting for the program included welcome words by Principal Mrs. Carolyn Mitchell, a Spanish mini-lesson presented by Mr. Correa, reading of the book The Astronaut with a Song for the Stars presented by Ms. Elizabeth Conner, a Bachata dance Lesson presented by Mrs. Stephanie Williams, among other educational activities.

Scotland Neck Elementary Leadership Academy
Students participated in a celebration of the Hispanic Heritage Month. This celebration included a Skype video conference with students from “Colegio Municipal Aeropuerto” from Colombia, traditional games from the Hispanic Culture, videos about Hispanic Heritage, and a Piñata for a select group of students.

Students participated in a celebration of the Hispanic Heritage Month. Northwest Collegiate and Technical Academy
Students participated in an Art Campaign where they painted and drew artwork with Hispanic culture in mind. Their best artwork is displayed on the walls on the main office and cafeteria entrance.

The celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month this year included videos, games, making of paper flowers, a presentation about Colombia, and a Skype video call with students from Gilma Casado de Vila Elementary School.

On Monday October 24 2016, students at Scotland Neck Elementary celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with activities that included readings, videos about Hispanic culture, and games from Latin American countries.

We are happy to announce that the ESL Adult Class started on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. This course is designed for adults who want to improve oral and written communication skills in the English language.
Everyone in the ESL community is invited to take this course, especially parents of ESL students from Halifax County Schools.
The ESL Adult Class will be meeting on Mondays and Wednesdays in room 502, building 500, Halifax Community College from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and is free of charge.
